The Long Weekend

The kids had off from school on Monday and Tuesday so the “weekend” was extra long! We had a few birthday parties to attend and held one of our own for Caleb, who actually turned 9 in September right after we returned from China. The younger kids, who don’t understand jet-lag and why the party was weeks later than it should have been, kept telling Caleb he was now ten. We took a group of his classmates bowling and it went well. What an awesome group! They were a lot of fun and kept the games competitive and interesting… we had some backwards bowling, some kickball bowling, and some help from the attendant when a ball came to a dead stop mid-way down the lane (intentionally rolled as slow as possible by the creative bowler pictured above… guess who Denise!?). The kids were also great with helping Brynn bowl with the contraption that helped her finish in the top three each game.

We have also had several play dates, soccer games, and flu shots. It was very busy and I was very happy for school to resume yesterday for just a few moments of peace (very few of course). These park pictures crack me up… I’d love to tell you Evan reads all the time everywhere we go but this is just so not typical of him. And Price using my cell phone… he was bored in 2 minutes because my Trac-fone just does not have a whole lot of gadgets. Later Price took over the camera and he snapped the picture of his friend Cameron (he took one that close up of me too but I just could not fit it into the collage… darn). I was able to get a few cute pictures of Brynn but she is still not aware that having a little sister and being happy can co-exist so there were some tantrums not captured on "film." And Nyah, well she has come completely out of her shell and is a wild, dare-devil... climbing without help and always mere inches away from a long fall. The kids don’t love this park as much as mommy does… they don’t appreciate the cleanliness of it, the pretty landscaping, and the fact that there are no swings so mommy does not have to push (or ignore the whines to push) the entire time we are there!

The preschool pumpkin patch trip is tomorrow so I will be taking the three little ones… I am hoping to manage a picture or two... maybe I should take Price to photograph the chaos!
