Still here...

I will be posting a bit more at the end of the week... a group project post on Friday and of course, the big birthday post for Jessa over the weekend. Maybe one or two more before I forget some things I want to record. For now, here is a found-late Christmas preschool creation from Nyah that I just love! Enjoy the giggle!

Wordless Wednesday (w/ added disclaimer)

For the grandparents... It is a ping pong ball, one of the safer things she has put in since it would be almost impossible to swallow. I promise she could still breathe. I promise I would have gotten it out if she seemed troubled. I promise that this was not taken with a zoom lens and I was right next to her. It was hysterical to see her try to "talk" with it in and have it fly out of her mouth. I will admit I let her do it a few times. We were both giggling and it is one of those moments I wish I had a video camera handy.

Picking a favorite from last year was tough. I had a few sweet ones to choose from of our new baby, some classic ones of my older two daughters, and even a few of the boys even though they run from my camera. Ultimately, I decided to go with one that makes me giggle - a picture of Nyah from Halloween dressed as one of her favorite princesses. Love my "Ariel" though I am hoping she never colors her hair this color...

Basketball Begins...

Evan taking control

This week Evan and Price had their first basketball games of the season. They both love playing. Evan is on the Rams this year. The league is for 2nd and 3rd graders, though he played at this level last year. There are 10 players on the team so each player plays for 1/2 the game. Evan had either 28 or 30 points, depending on who you ask. Eventually, he was asked not to take so many shots and to pass the ball more... not easy for a boy who knows the ins and outs of the game, loves to play, and is rather competitive.

Poor coach must have asked Evan to sit down at least 10 times... not only did he not listen (I am not sure his intense self is capable of doing so anyway) but soon the whole team was standing.

The score was too close for comfort for Evan; he may have no fingernails left by the end of the season!

Price likes to shoot the ball, a lot. He and his teammate on the left worked well together.

Price is in the 4-6 grade league and has a great 1st game, even though his team, the Panthers, did not win.

Price always was on the side of the court opposite from me... next week I will know where to sit!

Price had around 8 points. They play full court so it is a bit more running than in the younger leagues but Price looked very comfortable and confident.
