I was going to do a scoresheet for this post... like so far in seven days we have had ONE bloody nose due to fighting, THREE "I'm bored" complaints, SIX tantrums due to lack of sleep and too much activity, ONE HUNDRED hours of video games due to lots of dreary weather... but I think I will focus on the fun we had instead.
Last Friday our nephew/cousin Jacob graduated from high school so Sunday we went to his graduation party and had a blast out on the lake. The next day we attended a family picnic and a picnic to honor the high school's indoor track team's state championship. Two days of exhausting fun, family, friends, and food.
Two days of rain followed but finally, today, we were able to sneak a few hours in the pool.
Here is Evan at the picnic. Here is Evan at the pool. Here is what Evan does everywhere. The only water that bathing suit seems to touch is the water in the washing machine. Well, maybe some sweat too. And a few tears of frustration when he isn't getting his way or winning the ball game.
Here is Price, who we can always count on to fill the camera with silliness.
Brynn did finally swim in the big pool without making the "wow this is cold face" ~ personally, I don't enter the pool until Mid-June so good for her for trying.
Nyah was pretty happy in the little pool. And I was very happy she didn't feel the need to explore outside the little pool's gates. Look, they are within inches of each other and not screaming, hitting, or tattling.
I think Nyah may be a soccer player!
Caleb managed to avoid the camera for most of the day but not completely. Not only is he refusing pictures, but he is refusing to get his hair cut. How long will his daddy be able to stand it?
And once in a while all these boys (and a few girls) stopped to rest, well, to eat. Here they made a fort out of the golf cart because the tables shaded with umbrellas near the pool just aren't good enough... it couldn't possibly be because they are too close to the moms could it?
Lots of baseball this weekend and a birthday party for a spunky girl turning 5! Stay tuned!
