Brynn & Nyah are still struggling as sisters. Nyah wakes up each morning eager to see her sister, copying every move she makes and if you compliment Brynn on anything, you best say a similar comment to Nyah or she will grunt until you do. She may be short on words, but she understands them all.
Brynn on the other hand, would rather her sister just stay away, far away, like, um, maybe in China. She has no patience for 2-year old behavior and tattles on Nyah before Nyah has a chance to even do anything.
Then, as soon as Brynn does this, typically within 15 minutes after waking up, Nyah spends the rest of the day seeking revenge; she knows exactly how to push all of Brynn's buttons. It is not pretty.
Anyway, the point of this story is to remember a ball field incident last week. I noticed Brynn and Nyah interacting with a little girl on the playground. She was smaller than Brynn but bigger than Nyah so I am thinking she was three and I say interacting because they were not playing ~ it was more a challenge between Brynn and the girl as to who could boss Nyah around more. I ignored it until I heard Nyah crying ~ she was pinned to the ground by the little girl, who was pinned to Nyah by Brynn. I went over and told the girls to play nicely and told the little girl that she had to be gentle with Nyah because Nyah was littler.
Not two minutes later I look over and Nyah is playing happily on the slide but Brynn and the girl are next to the equipment in a fist fight ~ well sorta ~ it was more like clawing and scratching the air between them. I walked over and broke them up and was trying pretty hard not to laugh because I know that might encourage more fighting but in all honesty, it was pretty darn funny. The dad of the little girl walked over at that point and he had a big grin on his face too.
I cannot remember Caleb ever getting into a fist fight with someone other than siblings. Both other boys have once each, with the same child on two different occasions. This is a first for Brynn so I am not too worried about her being too aggressive, yet.
Part of me is happy that she defended her sister. I guess no one can pick on Nyah except for her. She does the same thing with Evan... if one of us fusses at him she lets us have it ~ verbally though or with a sticking out of her tongue.
Brynn didn't want to go back to the ball field the next night (when these pictures were taken) because "that mean girl" might be there. I told her the other girl might think SHE is "that mean girl" too. Didn't faze her.
But now I have to wonder if our first "in-trouble" Kindergarten call will be for excessive talking, bad language (she like to mention private parts a lot thanks to her brothers), or for fighting. She has had no trouble in preschool but the Kindergarten day is longer and that is a lot of time to keep it together. Won't this be a fun adventure!! :)

LOL!!!! I could say don't worry it will get better, but that would be a lie. My oldest still picks on his sister, but got kicked of the bus before because someone else called her a name!!!!!
:)~
You had already shared this with me, but somehow reading it again made me laugh out loud! So cute that she was sticking up for her little sis~
