Baseball... in January?

Not really. I am still trying to go through my 2012 pictures and place an order for prints and baseball pictures (and a few other sports for Evan) happen to be what I worked in recent weeks.

So at Christmas I ordered each of the boys a poster from, gasp, W@lm@rt. For Caleb and Price the pictures were from their All-Star experiences and for Evan (above) it was a compilation of his year in sports. They look fantastic! These collages are of the same pictures though I used my collage maker on my computer for these... the posters were made from the stores collage maker and I also could put a title on the posters. What a great way to display the memories in the boys' rooms!

Caleb played his 3rd year of Allstars this year and it was by far his personal best year. The team made it to the state level and did exceptionally well. After hitting his first HR ever during the regular season, he hit his second in a state game against the team that ultimately won it all. The bottom row, 3rd picture is the home run hit and if you look closely you can see the ball just as it leaves his bat. The picture next to it on the right is of his teammates meeting him at home plate. What an amazing group of boys they are! My other favorite pictures are the one where he slides into 3rd successfully with his coach right there looking on ~ far right, 5th row ~ and then when he makes it home and is congratulated by his teammate and the enthusiastic parents behind home plate ~ 4th row, 1st two pics. Caleb's running ability was definitely still his strongest asset and it was great to see the effort he put into improving his hitting pay off.

Evan played 2 seasons of ball this year where he was able to start pitching, 1 season of basketball, ran one kid run, and joined the swim team mid-season. He is quite the athlete and puts his whole self into whatever the sport of the day happens to be. I am very thankful that he shows better sportsmanship in organized sports than he shows at home playing/practicing with his brothers. The bottom picture of him in the pool was taken by a friend and I am very thankful because I wasn't able to get a closeup shot.

Price played his first season of Allstars this summer and it was a huge boost to his self-confidence. His pitching at the Allstar level was great and when he hit the ball (which is more and more each season), he hit it hard and far. Though the pictures don't show it, he did spend some time playing 1st base and though I may be remembering this incorrectly, that is his favorite position to play. Price also played fall ball this year after Allstars and continued to do very well.

On a side note to explain why the sudden picture bombardment... Photography has become my biggest hobby and I have taken enough classes to know that most professionals recommend using a professional print lab and I do do so for large prints I am hanging on my walls. But because I simply cannot afford that pricing for all my snapshots, I have not printed pictures in years!! I finally decided that was ridiculous and that years down the road I will cherish my snapshots even if the colors are slightly off. I am going to continue to post pictures from 2012 as I also send them to the printer and likely I will repeat pictures because frankly, I cannot remember what I wrote about previously.

For 2013, I also am trying to take a picture a day (or maybe 7 in a week), even if some are on my phone. I'll post those every Monday night/Tuesday morning.
