Celebrating Double Digits!

Last Wednesday, on the 16th, Caleb turned 10! Though I am late with the blog post, don't worry... there was plenty of celebration. Instead of a birthday bash, a few weeks ago Caleb and two of his friends, along with Doug, Evan, and Price, had a "boys weekend" involving a local water park, a hotel stay, plenty of eating out, and a trip to D*ve & Bust*rs ~ a more "grown up" version of Ch*ckie Ch**eses, so I am told. Then because my parents were going to be out of town on the actual birthday, Caleb got to open their present ~ a video camera I will be borrowing ~ and have ice cream a few days before the 16th. Then on his actual birthday we ate at a local restaurant with Doug's parents and sister and he was spoiled yet again.

Caleb is having a great school year so far. He did very well on his first interim and while his organization could still use some, well, organization, it is slightly improved over last year. He seems very happy and lately both Doug and I notice a new maturity about him that wasn't there just a few months ago.

Caleb will be doing OM again this year and that should start in a few weeks. Right now he is playing in a flag football league and he is loving it!! He scored 2 touchdowns the first week and wasn't sure he would ever take off his jersey! Unfortunately I won't be able to see the first 5 games of the season because Evan and Price have soccer games at the same time across town. I'm coaching Evan's team so that makes it a little more of a challenge. Thankfully Denise got a few pictures for me of the first game.

I am going to finish out Nyah's blog in the next few days with a final post now that she has been home a year. Stay tuned!
