I decided for this week's Wordless Wednesday I was going to ask each of the kids how they feel so far about school and have them show me somehow with their hands or faces. These two are what I expected and they would have been fine without words because their expressions match what they have told me, though for a few minutes this morning a sleepy Brynn was heard saying, "I want to stay home today!"
Then came Price's turn... he looks somewhat grumpy in the picture but really, he was not like that for any other second of this morning. While he misses his friends in class, I think so far he has been fine with school. The sideways thumbs up (or thumbs down if you are a pessimist) is what I expected. The unhappy face was not so I think he did it on purpose just to be difficult! :) He comes home each day happy and he leaves for school each day happy.
Now this one is the reason this post could not be "Wordless." Evan has done nothing but complain about school since the first afternoon. "It is just so long." "I don't like nap time." "When do big kids get the day off from school?" I don't think it is any one thing that he doesn't like... just the fact he has to sit still and he would rather, well, not. He doesn't get in trouble at school but lets just say his behavior at home hasn't been all that great, though I did expect that to happen so it did not catch me off guard.
Maybe he smiled because I told him he had PE today...
I'll do a first week summary this weekend. Meanwhile, hy house is looking a bit cleaner so I am happy about that. I wish I had taken before/after pictures of our craft/school supply cabinet. That wouldn't have needed any words. Today I venture into the basement!
