Yesterday was Brynn's 6th birthday. To say she was excited is an understatement. She has been counting down for weeks!
Brynn bounced out of bed, thrilled to now be six! We started of the day with opening presents... a DS and a couple games from us, a much desired Hannah M. watch from Grandma & Grandpa, and some sidewalk chalk and a puzzle from our family in NJ. Brynn loved them all! It is always fun to watch her open presents because she gets SOOOO excited about each and every one.
Then we moved on to cake and ice-cream (Cookies & Cream, her choice of course) for breakfast as Doug and the others were headed off to a college ball game (a series that started Friday) ~ per Brynn's request Doug took Nyah too, which really did for a much more of a Brynn spoiling, peaceful for mom day.
Off we went... Chinese food for lunch with Grandpa, games & a crown at Chuck E. Cheese with a friend (and some much needed girlfriend time for me) & a crown, then to the store to spend her birthday money from Grandma & Grandpa... gum, a jumping bean, and a little storage locker with a key that is WAY too small for a silly 6-year old.
After taking a few pictures outside with darkness quickly approaching (I was trying to get a good shot of her birthday ribbon but didn't manage that), we headed inside for cartoons and popcorn.
I think Brynn's only disappointment for the day was that she was not bigger. She keeps asking if she seems bigger because, "I still look small." And here I just want to keep her little a little longer...
We have a party in the works for the end of the month... between our vacation, work schedules, & kid activities, there were no other decent dates. I do feel bad making her wait but I keep telling her and myself that what could be better than spreading out the fun!
